Twice a year, KEA holds a career day for you as a KEA student. You can also join the event if you have just finished your degree at KEA.
In the spring, the career day is held for Build and Tech, and in the autumn for Digital and Design. At the career fair you can meet companies looking for interns and/or employees for relevant study jobs or full-time employment. All participating companies have at least one vacancy.
Relevant trade unions will also be participating, and you can talk to them to hear what they can help with or they can give you individual sparring about your CV.

The KEA Charrette is held once a year. The Charette form is intense time-limited cooperation on innovative solutions to complex tasks. The participants are students from different kinds of education and different countries and cultures. The challenge takes place in KEA’s surroundings in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, and takes place in the autumn.
The concept provides a good framework for the combination of learning, cooperating and being innovative in a cultural meeting. It consists of three main elements:
KEA’s students have a third of the seats in the Charrette and guest students from partner institutions abroad have two-thirds of the seats. If you’re interested in participating as a student, you must therefore apply for a seat.

Cleaning services are provided at KEA's addresses as follows:
GBG - From Monday to Thursday open lounges, offices, kitchens and toilets are being cleaned. On Sunday there is a thorough cleaning in all premises. Remember to clear tables and floors in the classrooms if cleaning is required.

L16 - From Monday to Thursday as well as Sunday open lounges, offices, kitchens and toilets are being cleaned. Thorough cleaning takes place in a roll, so that other premises are thoroughly cleaned on one of the mentioned weekdays. Keep an eye on the label in the door frame of the individual room, it states which day the thorough cleaning takes place. Remember to clear tables and floors in the classrooms if cleaning is required.
FRV - From Monday to Friday open lounges, offices, kitchens and toilets are being cleaned. Thorough cleaning takes place in a roll, so that other premises are thoroughly cleaned on one of the mentioned weekdays. The landlord provides cleaning services Monday to Friday at MIV in Hillerød.
If you want the surfaces to be wiped, for example windowsills or desks, you must make sure that they have been cleared. The same applies to floors.
All refrigerators in the student kitchens are cleaned several times a year, and users are notified several days in advance with notices on the refrigerators. Please remember to remove the items you would like to keep.

No more paper towels at GBG
At GBG there will be a new sustainable initiative from January 2024: paper towels will be phased out and replaced with cotton cloths where relevant. The cloths are sewn from discarded textiles and replace 2 to 3 pieces of paper towels per hand drying. They can be washed up to 300 times before disposal, and KEA contributes to utilize discarded textiles.
By replacing two pieces of paper towels with a cotton cloth, approximately 30% less greenhouse gas is emitted in the total account including transport and washing process. In addition, the amount of residual waste at GBG is being expected to fall by just over 4 tons per year, as well as there will be a reduction in the use of plastic bags for baskets for residual waste.
KEA has a set of general rules of conduct that apply to everyone. Locally, there may be more detailed rules.
Apart from behavioural rules, KEA’s code of conduct includes rules of conduct, security regulations, house rules, regulations on notices, signposting and notices on Fronter and the Intranet. These local rules must be followed even if they are not included in the below rules.
Anyone present at KEA has the duty to comply with the safety and security regulations.
As a student at KEA, you have the right to complain about an exam or a test, e.g. if you believe that there were errors in the exam process or that the assessment was incorrect. For example, you may believe that you were not examined in accordance with the programme curriculum.
You can also complain about other matters where KEA has made a decision, e.g. on admission, disenrolment, readmission, leave, dispensation, credit or expulsion.
Before you choose to file a complaint, it's a good idea to consider what exactly you want to complain about.

You can complain about:
The issues may concern the assessment (the grade), the exam basis (test questions, assignments and the like) or the exam process (compliance with the set duration of the exam, access to permitted aids and the like). The complaint may also relate to noncompliance with the programme curriculum at your exam.
Is the assessment correct based on a professional assessment of your performance? Were you examined according to the right learning objectives? Were there parts of the assignment that the internal or external examiner did not assess or misunderstood? Did the conditions during your exam suffer from flaws?
Is the internal or external examiner incompetent? Has KEA forgotten about consultation of parties involved? Were formal requirements made that do not appear from the curriculum? Have rules been applied incorrectly?
Before filing a complaint, it may be a good idea to discuss issues you are considering to complain about with your teacher or your study counsellor.
This could help set problems right or remove misunderstandings.
If you want to complain about a grade, read the learning objectives for the subject before complaining. Having read the learning objectives can improve the basis of your complaint if you can justify why your exam was incorrectly assessed. In addition, it will enable you to assess whether your performance at the exam met the learning objectives and thereby whether you have a basis for complaining.
The grade given after an oral examination, will normally be accompanied by a short oral explanation. If you are unsure about the content of the explanation or wish to have it clarified, you may contact your examiner (usually your teacher) a few days after you have received the grade.
However, note that you are not entitled to a justification of the grade nor is the examiner obliged to further explain the given grade.
Even if you are waiting for clarification from your examiner(s), you must still meet the deadline of 2 weeks to file a complaint.

If you don’t have a KEA email if, for instance, you’re not enrolled as a student at KEA, we will write to you through Digital Post and you can write to us securely via Digital Post.
The deadline for filing a complaint over an exam is 2 weeks (14 calendar days) from the date on which the grade was given. For oral exams or exams with an oral defence, the deadline is calculated from the date of the exam.
According to The Ministerial Order on Admission and Enrolment (Adgangsbekendtgørelsen), the deadline for filing a complaint about admission, disenrolment, leave or readmission, etc., is 2 weeks (14 calendar days) from the date when the decision was notified.
KEA may dispense with the complaint deadline in exceptional circumstances.
Your complaint must be individual, written and preferably reasoned.
Any complaint filed jointly by several students will be rejected.
If your complaint includes two or more issues at the same time, e.g. process and assessment, please separate these issues in your complaint so that it is clear which arguments you base each issue on. This will greatly ease the case handling and ensure that it is clear what you are complaining about.
Once you have filed your complaint, you will receive confirmation from KEA that we have received your complaint.
The complaints team in KEA Quality & Analysis handles all complaints cases.
It may take approximately 6-8 weeks for KEA to make a decision in your complaints case. The duration of the process is typically longer during holidays and peak periods. You will be informed of the expected processing time when you file your complaint.
The handling of a complaint depends on what you have complained about. The case processing will be carried out in accordance with the relevant legal basis.
NOTE! Your course of study will continue during KEA's handling of your complaint.
Your filing of a complaint will not lead to any postponement of a possible re-exam and you will therefore use an exam attempt if you do not attend the re-exam.
If you pass a re-exam on the same exam while KEA is processing your case, the case will be brought to an end; you cannot accept a positive outcome of the complaint case, since an exam passed cannot be retaken.
Your complaint will lead to a decision, basically with two possible outcomes:
1) You succeed and get e.g. an offer of a new exam/assessment
2) Your complaint is rejected
The decision will be sent to your KEA email. If you do not have a KEA email, the decision will be sent to you via Digital Post.
If you are offered a re-exam or a reassessment and you wish to accept the offer, you must do so within 2 weeks. You accept the offer by sending your acceptance to your study administration with a copy to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The offer will lapse if you do not accept it within 2 weeks.
If you are offered a new assessment or a new exam, it must take place as soon as possible. KEA will set the time for the new assessment or exam.
Note that a new assessment or exam may result in a lower grade, which will then be the valid grade. There will be new examiners for a new exam.
You have the option to withdraw your complaint before a decision has been made on your complaint.

It can make sense to withdraw your complaint e.g. if:
If your appeal is rejected or partially successful, the decision will include guidance on how to appeal and on the appeal deadline. You will typically have 2 weeks to appeal after your receipt of the decision. As a rule, you can appeal the decision on grounds of legal defects or academic issues.
In case of legal defects, you can appeal to the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science (Uddannelses- og Forskningsstyrelsen). In practice, the appeal should typically be addressed to the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science, but sent to KEA on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. within a time limit of 2 weeks from the date of your receipt of the decision. KEA will prepare a statement to the complaint, which you will be allowed to comment on before it is sent to the Agency for their final decision.
In case of academic issues, you can appeal the decision to an appeal board set up by KEA. Your appeal must be written and reasoned. A complaint will always be handled in accordance with the relevant legislation and the applicable curriculum.
Complaints about exams or assessment will be handled in accordance with the rules in the Ministerial Order on Examinations.
Complaints about admission will be handled in accordance with the rules in the Ministerial Order on Admission.
Complaints about credit will be handled in accordance with the rules laid down in the Ministerial Order on Technical and Business Academy Profession Programmes and Professional Bachelor's Degree Programmes (Bekendtgørelse om tekniske og merkantile erhvervsakademiuddannelser og professionsbacheloruddannelser).
Complaints about any other matters will be handled in accordance with the rules of the relevant legislation, e.g. the Act on Business Academy Profession Programmes and Professional Bachelor's Degree Programmes (LEP-loven).
KEA has drawn up emergency procedures that set out what students should do in the event of a fire, threat or other serious situation. You can find KEA’s emergency procedures here, and you are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the procedures and follow them in the event of an emergency alarm and other incidents.
In case of evacuation of a building, find the nearest assembly point on the fire emergency plans placed by the doors of entrance and exit.

In the subject catalogue you can read more about the subjects you’ll be having in the course of your study. The catalogue gives information about the content and intended learning objectives of a subject and the form of teaching and the final exams related to a subject.
You can apply for credit transfer on the basis of completed programme elements or employment corresponding to the element(s) in question.
KEA will assess your application individually based on the information you provide. It is important that you attach documentation to your application.

Your application will be processed by the head of programme and the Study Administration. The head of programme will determine if you can be allowed an exemption. You will receive a reply from the Study Administration within five weeks.

At KEA Library you can always find a copy of the readings from your syllabus. You cannot borrow the books from the syllabus with you home, but you can read them in the library. This way, you are always guaranteed access to the literature on your syllabus.
We often buy extra copies of the books on the syllabus for our regular collection, and you can of course borrow them to take home with you – under normal terms and according to the principle of first come, first served.
All KEA’s programmes are governed by a curriculum. Among other things, the curriculum describes your subjects, what semester they occur in, their intended learning goals for your knowledge, skills and competences, how to work with the study and when the exams will take place.

The goal of your course of study is for you to acquire knowledge, skills and competencies within disciplines of professional relevance to your line of education. KEA is a higher education institution and therefore offers teaching on the tertiary level.
The curriculum refers to knowledge, skills and competencies to describe the concrete learning objectives of your education, i.e. what your learn. EU institutions use knowledge, skills and competences as a common frame of reference to compare educational programmes. Among other things, this enables credit transfer. In your programme curriculum, you’ll find the specific learning goals for your programme, split into knowledge, skills and competences.
Knowledge and skills may be learned and form the basis for competences. We obtain knowledge by studying something, by taking classes and reading, whereas we obtain skills by doing exercises corresponding to practice.
We have acquired competences when we’re able to combine new knowledge and skills as a basis for competent action, meaning that we are able to use both theory and practice to solve a task.
